SIMIT’s R&D level on MEMS and the sensor field has been improved greatly

International Conference on Solid-State Sensors, Actuators and Microsystems (Transducers in short) is the biggest academic conference in the sensor technology area in the world, which is commonly recognised with its strict paper selection criteria and high academic levels. The meeting is held every other year in turn in America, Europe and Asia (including Oceania) since its first meeting in Boston, USA in 1981, with over 1000 attendees coming from academic institutes and related enterprises of different countries.

After several generations of hard work and applications, the conference will be held in China in 2011 for the first time, which greatly encouraged the scientific researchers in the field, who were determined to get more paper selected from China in the upcoming conference this year held in Denver, United States. With persistent hard-work, there are 9 papers selected from Researchers of Division 1 of SIMIT, including the only invited lecture in China and three oral lectures. The paper selected doubled the past, with the quantity and quality top among all sister organisations in China.

It shows that the R&D level of SIMIT on MEMS and the sensor has been improved significantly and the independent innovation capabilities have been promoted greatly. Meanwhile, it also raises China’s international position in this academic field.
